Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis (M.S.)

Purpose

The Master of Science in Behavior Analysis program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to apply theories and research of human behavior to real world problems. This program is congruent with Liberty University’s strategic plan goals through providing training in evidence-based behavioral principles and enhancing students’ effectiveness in research, leadership, and service. This program is geared towards helping students translate the theoretical foundations of behavioral analysis to concrete applications to better serve their community and be more effective Champions for Christ.

Program Learning Outcomes

The student will be able to:

  • Analyze literature within the discipline of Applied Behavior Analysis, identifying philosophical, ethical, and theoretical underpinnings, and major concepts and principles through a Biblical worldview.
  • Utilize behavioral research, including measurement, interpretation, and experimental design.
  • Conduct behavioral assessment, utilize behavior-change techniques, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Implement and evaluate behavior-analytic supervision and management.

Program Specific Admission Procedures

In addition to the General Admission Procedures outlined in this Catalog, applicants to the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis (M.S.) must have:

  1. An earned baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (e.g., SACSCOC, TRACS, ABHE, etc.);
  2. An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale).
  3. Official transcripts must be provided before admission. Mail official college transcripts (sealed, unopened copy).

Transfer of Credit

Students may transfer up to 18 hours of coursework into the M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis program. In order to transfer credit, students must have earned the minimum grade of B-; and courses must have been completed within 10 years of the start date of the program. Credits from a prior degree on the same academic level earned through Liberty University are considered transfer credits.
