Master of Divinity in Christian Ministries (M.Div.)
Purpose
The Master of Divinity degree equips students through a biblical framework to lead in church and Christian ministry contexts by developing character, critical thinking skills, ministry competencies, and cultural acuity. This program provides an integrated approach where multiple disciplines are utilized while connecting learning in real-life applications with ministry settings and leaders.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Develop an evangelical theology based on the integrated use of Scripture with other appropriate sources.\\n
- Implement a biblical philosophy of ministry through appropriate professional practice and training experiences in the field.
- Interpret cultural contexts through the lens of a biblical worldview and research based on a knowledge of the literature appropriate to the discipline.
Advanced Biblical Interpretation
The student will be able to:
- Utilize grammatical and syntactical expertise in the accurate interpretation of scriptural writings.
- Create an original research thesis covering a current divinity topic.

Program Specific Admission Requirements
In addition to the general admission procedures, applicants to the Master of Divinity in Christian Ministries program must meet the following requirements:
- Earned baccalaureate degree or its equivalent (in any field) from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (e.g., SACSCOC, TRACS, ABHE, etc.).
- Contact information for one Pastoral Recommendation.
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
- School of Divinity Questionnaire/Personal Statement
- TOEFL Scores for students who speak English as a second language (score of 600 paper-based test; 250 computer-based test, 80 internet-based test).
Degree Transfer
M.A., M.R.E., OR M.Div. into the M.Div. in Christian Ministries Program
Students who pursue a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministries (M.Div.) degree after having earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Exposition (M.A.), Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics (M.A.), Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (M.A.), Master of Arts in Global Studies (M.A.), Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.) or Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.), any Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree may use all applicable credits from the M.A., M.A.R., or M.R.E. toward the M.Div. as allowed by the student’s specific M.Div. in Christian Ministries Degree Completion Plan (DCP) so long as the credits do not exceed two-thirds of the M.Div. program.
Degree Candidacy
Degree Candidacy is granted when the student completes all prerequisites and is in good academic standing.
