Master of Arts in Church Multiplication (M.A.)
Purpose
The purpose of the Master of Arts in Church Multiplication program is to equip students with the knowledge, values, and practical skills necessary for effective church planting. This program provides an integrated approach where multiple disciplines are utilized while connecting learning in real-life applications with ministry settings and leaders.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Assess the vocational calling and personal character traits necessary for a church planter
- Critically examine different contexts, models, and strategies for church planting, incorporating a robust theological foundation alongside contemporary research, academic literature, and practical experience
- Implement church planting strategies in specific contexts through appropriate professional practice
Program Specific Admission Requirements
In addition to the general admission procedures, applicants to the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry program must meet the following requirements:
- Earned baccalaureate degree or its equivalent (in any field) from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (e.g., SACSCOC, TRACS, ABHE, etc.).
- Contact information for one Pastoral Recommendation
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale)
- School of Divinity Questionnaire/Personal Statement
- TOEFL Scores for students who speak English as a second language (score of 600 paper- based test; 250 computer-based test, 80 internet-based test).
Transfer Credit
Transfer hours may not exceed 50% credit hours of the program. Transfer credits are considered on a case-by-case basis and must have been completed as M.A. course work within the previous ten (10) years from a regionally accredited program to be accepted. Courses must have a grade of B- or higher to be eligible for consideration for transfer credit. Correspondence studies or life experiences will not be accepted for transfer credit. Credits from a prior degree earned through Liberty University are considered transfer credits.
