Conversational Spanish Major (A.A.)
Purpose
The Associate of Arts in Conversational Spanish program develops students’ proficiency in spoken Spanish, emphasizing practical communication skills for diverse professional and cultural contexts. Through structured coursework in conversation, grammar, composition, and applied language practice, students gain confidence in engaging with Spanish-speaking communities. The program integrates linguistic and cultural studies, including Latin American civilization and Spanish children’s literature and film, to enhance cross-cultural competence. Graduates are prepared for roles requiring bilingual communication or further study in Spanish-related fields. Rooted in a Christian worldview, the program fosters ethical and service-oriented engagement with Spanish-speaking populations.
